After removing a row of struggling apple trees this week, the land was tilled, root systems removed, planting locations marked with spray paint, string stretched from post to post to make a straight line, holes dug, lye added to soil, young trees set in, soil filled in and compacted. Next, thin posts will go in to tie to each tree helping these beauties through the winter. In the spring, irrigation will be installed at the roots and these trees will be on their way.
