Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and President Kennedy Assassination

The gateway to downtown Dallas, Dealey Plaza was constructed at the site of the city's founding and completed in 1941. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 transformed this symbol of local civic pride into an internationally recognized site of tragedy. Dealey Plaza was named a National Historic Landmark District in 1993.
