How to make your own Kombucha Scoby from scratch. ☝️The only twist to the tale is that you need a raw, unfiltered bottle of kombucha, which will contain some of the bacteria that we need to kickstart the scoby culture. In theory, you could also simply leave the sweetened tea to ferment by itself and eventually a scoby might form. But it would take much longer and requires quite specific temperatures and ambient conditions to let the right bacteria power through.
