Steve Washington (1958–2026) was a legendary funk musician, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who co-founded the influential Dayton-based band Slave in 1975. Known as "The Fearless Leader," he was a pioneer of the "electric trumpet" and a driving force behind the band's distinctive groove-heavy sound.
