Family Ties Mineral Hall • Kansas City Art Institute September 6 – October 25, 2025 In 2023, a small space became available for use in a @kcaifoundation building. Visiting Assistant Professor @elainebuss suggested it could become a place for work curated by and for Foundation students. What began as a modest closet quickly grew into a student-driven project with full freedom to create and experiment. Now, three years later, the KCAI Gallery Club is hosting its sixth (and largest) show to date. O

Alumni took home an exclusive design created in collaboration between Edwing Mendez (’14 @kcaigraphicdesign) / @wing_dez and Isaac Tapia / @tapia.isaac. Nicolas Ortega (’16 @kcaiprintmaking) / @chrysalis83 guided participants through a process usually reserved for the studio, sharing the unique challenges of screen printing outdoors. For Viva
