Fresh off their 17th win of the season, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve didn’t hold back when asked about the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game. Her issue wasn’t about who the game will feature, it was about who it won’t.

In a format that will only generate buzz around the WNBA and possibly spark more controversy, the captains for the two All-Star teams will pick their rosters. Both Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who received 1,293,526 votes, and Minnesota Lynx Forward Napheesa Collier, who received 1,176,020 votes from fans, were named as captains.

Kayla Thornton, Gabby Williams, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron will be making their All-Star debuts in Indianapolis later this month as they were all chosen on Sunday as reserves for the game.

Washington Mystics rookies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron are headed to the WNBA All-Star game, making them the first pair of rookie teammates to make the team since 1999. This makes them the youngest WNBA All-Stars in Mystics history.
