Police are investigating the possible connection between a shooting in North Philly that injured three people and a hit-and-run where an off-duty officer was struck Sunday morning.

Police say three people have been hospitalized after being shot when gunfire erupted at, what officials called, a large gathering in North Philadelphia early Sunday.

Philly police officers responded to a report about a person with a gun near 55th and Girard Avenue. Upon arrival, they were flagged down by a 24-year-old man with a graze wound to his right shoulder.
