A Florida man who fatally stabbed his estranged wife’s sister and parents and then set fire to their house is scheduled for execution in Florida under a death warrant signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Forecasters say the monster storm will turn away from the eastern U.S. and won’t make landfall. But they predict it will churn up dangerous rip currents.

TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that he doesn’t think President Donald Trump’s desire to ban voting by mail applies to Florida. Asked about Trump’s vow on Monday to “lead a movement” to end the use of mail-in ballots, DeSantis said he thought it only applied to states that send mail ballots to all voters.

A fisherman removed a hook from a shark’s mouth on a Florida beach and was posing for a photo when the animal whipped around and bit him.
