NBA free agency officially kicked off on Monday evening as the negotiating window opened for eligible players and all teams across the league at 6 p.m. ET. Monday night was relatively quiet, but the first stunners of the new league year came Tuesday morning.

The Houston Rockets have been one of the busiest teams in the early portion of the NBA offseason, but they reportedly have plenty of work ahead of them that could include expanding the Kevin Durant trade.

The original framework had Durant going from the Rockets to the Suns. Then the Warriors, Lakers, Timberwolves, Hawks and Nets all piled on to combine some different asset movement into one giant conglomeration.

The NBA free agency was also destined to be a dud in the summer of 2025. The list of unrestricted free agents was topped by older veteran stars who were never going to leave their incumbent teams, and younger restricted free agents who were going to get squeezed due to the lack of available cap space around the league.
