New York Liberty forward Jonquel Jones responded to recent comments by Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams, who called the Liberty a “punk-a** team” during a livestream appearance alongside teammate Natisha Hiedeman and newly signed guard Jaylyn Sherrod.

Paige Bueckers had 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Wings’ first game since Dijonai Carrington was traded to the Lynx. She left the game midway through the third quarter and went to the locker room with a back issue. She returned to the bench at the start of the fourth quarter and played in the final period.
