Throughout her second season in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game for the Indiana Fever. Clark started the season on a tear under Stephanie White but has since struggled to stay on the court, plaguing her second season as a professional.
After losing Sophie Cunningham to what appears to be a serious knee injury, the Fever rallied from 21 points down to force overtime. In the extra frame, All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell took over and scored 10 of her career high-tying 38 points to lead the Fever to a much-needed 99-93 win.
The Fever secured an arduous and emotional comeback victory over the Sun on Sunday, picking up their 19th victory of the season in overtime, 99–93. Head coach Stephanie White couldn't help but get emotional during her postgame address in the locker room in which she praised the team's relentless effort throughout the game.
After the Cunningham news was released, Aliyah Boston took to social media. On her Instagram story, Boston sent a message to Cunningham: “Love you babes.” Aliyah Boston is currently in her third season with the Indiana Fever, while Sophie Cunningham was playing in her first season with the team.
Stephanie White praised her Fever squad for rallying back from the 21-point deficit to beat the Sun 99-93 in overtime on Sunday.
