The Dark Ages is developed by Bethesda's id Software and is the third game in the newest series that began with 2016's Doom and continued with 2020's Doom Eternal. Although the series is now owned by Microsoft, the company is releasing The Dark Ages on PS5 as part of its new multiplatform release strategy.
Microsoft is closing out its first half of 2025 release schedule with an absolutely massive effort from Bethesda & id Software - yep, DOOM: The Dark Ages is here and playable with Xbox Game Pass on day one.
But you don't have to wait to enjoy the latest entry to the historic franchise. Xbox and Prince St. Pizza teamed up to create the Hellfire Pepperoni, which is inspired by DOOM: The Dark Ages. The pizza launched on May 12 and will continue to be available until June 15.
The limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller is also available in a bundle deal with a physical copy of Doom: The Dark Ages.

The Dark Ages have reported that the game disc included doesn’t contain the entire game’s files. The FPS sequel will be available in both physical and digital formats, although the former will still require a hefty download before play is possible.
