Two waves of Israeli strikes hit the Hezbollah-controlled Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut overnight into Thursday, with Lebanese authorities reporting at least six people killed and 15 others wounded in the attacks. The Israel Defense Forces had called for residents to evacuate hours before the strikes.

Israel on Sunday launched air strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs shortly after issuing evacuation orders for three neighbourhoods in the Hezbollah stronghold areas. The intensification of Israeli attacks came as the Lebanese government is studying a US ceasefire plan for Israel’s war in Lebanon.
