Pete DeJoy took over following former CEO Andy Byron’s resignation after he was captured on a “kiss cam” with a fellow Astronomer employee, who is not his wife, at a Coldplay concert.

The data company Astronomer has been the focus of an "unusual and surreal" amount of attention, the company's new CEO said in a statement Monday.

"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name,” said cofounder Pete DeJoy.
