An icy winter storm moved through north Georgia on Sunday, with an ice storm warning remaining in effect for most of our area.

Hundreds of thousands of power outages were reported across the U.S. as a monster storm hit huge sections of the country, snarling roadways with dangerous ice and forcing mass flight cancellations.

With winter weather hitting North Alabama this weekend, some school systems are announcing plans to be closed on Monday.
