Both Shane Gillis and Tate McRae are retuning to Saturday Night Live for a second time, as host and musical guest, respectively. However, Gillis was a little confused about the "Sports Car" singer's name in a hilarious new promo for this weekend's episode.

Following the Uproxx cover star’s initial set of “ Sports Car ,” McRae hit SNL ‘s stage one final time. During her second performance, McRae delivered an intimately reverent performance of So Close To What track “Dear God.”

Following the show’s 50th anniversary celebration, “Saturday Night Live" (SNL) will be hosted by comedian Shane Gillis on Saturday, March 1 (3/1/2025) at 11:30 p.m. ET. The featured musical guest will be “It’s Okay I’m Okay” singer Tate McRae.

“SNL” showrunner Lorne Michaels has said that firing Gillis was not his choice and he was “angry” with NBC’s decision. All hard feelings were buried when Gillis made his official Studio 8H debut last year, hosting the February 25, 2024 episode.
