Catarina Macario scored her first national team goal in nearly three years as the USA beat Colombia 2-0 in their opening game of the SheBelieves Cup on Thursday.Macario's highly promising progress was halted by an ACL injury in June 2022 and she has suffered a number of setbacks in her return to action.

A 2-0 win over Colombia -- which included Catarina Macario scoring her first international goal in three years -- gave the USWNT the ideal start for 2025.

The sequence between Yohannes, Ryan and Macario was the first time the trio had played together in a competitive setting. Despite their limited experiences during practice, their chemistry offered a promising glimpse into the possibilities that lay ahead for the national team and its growing player pipeline.
