The Casper the Friendly Ghost universe is about to expand with a new live-action series at Peacock, reports Variety. Currently in development, the series is an entirely new take on the character.
Casper the Friendly Ghost first debuted in the 1930s as a children's book, appearing in short films in the 1940s before being published by Harvey Comics in the late 1940s.
In Casper (1995), Kat and her father, paranormal therapist James Harvey, arrive at the Whipstaff Manor, not knowing that the friendly ghost inhabiting the home orchestrated their invite.
