Times Square was briefly shut down Monday due to a police investigation of a suspicious package outside of an NYPD sub-station, police officials said.

Times Square was evacuated due to a suspicious package, which was found to be harmless. NYPD and the Bomb Squad responded; streets were closed but later reopened.
