New York City’s 81st annual Columbus Day Parade on Monday was cancelled due to the governor’s state of emergency order and inclement weather spurring floods across the tri-state area.

Thousands of people across NY, NJ and CT were without power after a nor'easter slammed the NYC area with heavy rain and strong winds.
New Jersey has also declared a state of emergency, as the storm is causing high surf and coastal flooding along the Jersey Shore.
A State of Emergency is declared for eight counties across southern New York until Monday at 6 p.m. Governor Hochul's office said that includes the Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk and Westchester Counties as well as counties contiguous to those eight.
