At least one person has died during a powerful nor’easter that brought heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and coastal flooding to communities up and down the East Coast since the weekend.
In New Jersey, about 9,900 customers are without power, with 2,033 of them in Monmouth County. All of New Jersey has been under a state of emergency since Saturday night. It's expected to last into Monday afternoon, authorizing the state's emergency services personnel to be activated as necessary.

The nor’easter impacting the tri-state area is bringing strong winds, heavy rain and the risk of significant coastal flooding to parts of Long Island and New York City through Monday morning.
