The Queen delighted racegoers but saw her hopes of a win dashed as she attended the second day of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival at York Racecourse. Camilla watched as three of her horses were beaten on Ladies Day at the North Yorkshire venue.
Willie Mullins can master the £500,000 Sky Bet Ebor once again with his number one contender HIPOP DE LOIRE (3.35). The dual-purpose performer was an unlucky fifth a year ago when Colin Keane got no sort of run in the closing stages. One in the clear, the stayer motored home for fifth, four-and-a-half lengths behind fellow Irish raider Magical Zoe.
Minnie Hauk secured an Oaks treble with a comfortable victory in the Yorkshire Oaks on day two of the Ebor meeting at York. The three-year-old filly, ridden by Ryan Moore and trained by Aidan O'Brien, beat runner-up Estrange by three and a half lengths. She had already won the Oaks at Epsom in June and the Irish Oaks at the Curragh in July.

Front runner NIGHT RAIDER (3.35) has speed to burn for the Group One Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes. The colt was once a Classic prospect for Karl Burke and ran in the 2,000 Guineas of 2024 won by Notable Speech.
An estimated 70,000 racegoers are expected to descend on York this week as the city’s biggest racing event of the year kicks off.
Pivotal gave long-time Prescott owners Cheveley Park Stud one of their greatest days when battling to a narrow Nunthorpe Stakes victory in 1996, but an even more dramatic finish to York’s sprint showcase came eight years ago when Marsha provided the veteran trainer one of his most memorable triumphs of recent times.
