Tariffs on Chinese goods are still scheduled to take effect at midnight, despite the White House pausing those on Canadian and Mexican products after agreement on new border security measures.

President Donald Trump said Monday he agreed to “immediately pause” tariffs on Mexico for a month after a “very friendly” conversation with the country’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum.

It comes after a call between Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum and Trump saw the pair agree to temporarily shelve a 25% US import tax on Mexican goods.
