Kenny Omega defeated Konosuke Takeshita Sunday night at AEW Revolution to capture the International Championship. His victory marked the culmination of his comeback from a battle with diverticulitis that was more than a year in the making.

Last night saw Omega defeat Konosuke Takeshita in an excellent back-and-forth bout to dethrone Takeshita as the AEW International Champion. In a match full of big moves and finishers, it was a cruxific pin that did the job for Kenny, bringing an end to Takeshita's International Title reign at 148 days.

Kenny Omega dethroned Konosuke Takeshita to become the AEW International Champion during Revolution. Omega was challenging Takeshita as his eighth title defense in 149 days as champion, serving as the latest installment of their saga stemming from their joint time in DDT Pro Wrestling thirteen years ago.

The Chadster suffered through Kenny Omega's offensive technical display at AEW Revolution, which Tony Khan booked just to cheese The Chadster off! 

Omega went on to say that he's had a year to clear his mind and refocus. He said he no longer has the extra baggage of the friends who left him behind or the extra baggage of being an EVP. He said AEW Revolution is not about revenge, it's about the gold, and he's taking it.
