President Donald Trump told lawmakers to “get rid of” the CHIPS Act in his joint address to Congress Tuesday night, calling it “a horrible, horrible thing.” This comes a day after tech giant Taiwan Semiconductor announced an investment worth $165 billion in the United States.

During his first speech to the joint U.S. Congress, President Donald Trump called on repealing the CHIPS and Science Act, a law passed during the Biden Administration to help bring back semiconductor manufacturing domestically inside the U.S.
