In his end-of-season press conference Monday, Campbell spoke openly about the bitter taste of falling short. The Lions missed the postseason at 9-8 after winning two playoff games in 2023 and going 15-2 a year ago. "Not good enough. We didn't get in. We underachieved," Campbell said. "So, not good. I'd give myself a freaking F."
After consecutive playoff appearances, including the NFC title game in 2024, the Lions suffered through a miserable season when they lost both coordinators, who were signed as head coaches. The team also dealt with a laundry list of injuries to key players.
The Detroit Lions may have missed the NFL playoffs, but there will be a “Dan Campbell” competing in a popular sporting event on Super Bowl Sunday.
