Arizona starter Eduardo Rodriguez surrendered nine runs (eight earned) in a short outing as the Royals buried the listless Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks starter Eduardo Rodriguez gave up one run in 5 1/3 innings last time out, making it five consecutive starts allowing two runs or fewer.

The Royals gave Lorenzen some early run support, too. Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and designated hitter Salvador Perez hit solo home runs in the second inning. Left fielder John Rave and centerfielder Kyle Isbel added RBI singles in the fifth.

Michael Lorenzen struck out seven in seven dominant innings, Bobby Witt Jr. homered and the Kansas City Royals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-0 on Sunday. Lorenzen (5-8) kept the Diamondbacks off-balance all afternoon with a mix of mid-90s fastballs and changeups.
