My husband and I want to stay here in early March, for our anniversary. He wants to feel like he is less in a campground and more away from people. Are there any spots in particular that anyone would recommend? Preferably sheltered too, so we don't get too blown over and cold. He also has a tent for on top of his truck that he wants to use.

138-139 are nice and you will easily fit. I agree they are protected and pretty private. California campgrounds/parks are in beautiful areas and really enjoyable for their picturesque views. They are really poor in comparison of amenities in AZ or OR state parks. That said you will enjoy the area and the rustic campground.

Hi Stacy K, Yes, dogs are allowed on leash and on designated trails, the boardwalks and the old Haul Road which runs from the north end of Fort Bragg at Pudding Creek, through MacKerricher, and north. They are not allowed after the Inglenook Fen north of MacKerricher, in Cleone since there is a restoration project going including rehabitation of the Snowy Plover, but it is all posted very prominently so you won't miss the stopping point. Hope you all have a great time!
